Quito, Ecuador

Ecuador is located on the northwest of the South America continent, neighboring Colombia and Peru. Quito is the capital city with its population of nearly 3 million people. Spanish is the official language while English and Quichia, which is a local language, are widely spoken. The city is very rich in natural resources and exports cocoa beans, banana and rose to the world. Many historical structures remain to this day from the colonial period and the city has been in the World Heritage list since 1978. Quito combines modern and traditional life together.
