Christ the Redeemer is a statue of Jesus Christ which is located in Corcovado mountain in the Tijuca Forest National Park. It overlooks the city of Rio de Janeiro as it stands at the peak of 700 meters. It was built between the years 1922 and 1931. Since then, it watches the city from above with a height of 30 meters, as a symbol of Christianity and a cultural icon across the world. It is also considered as one of the seven wonders of the world.
