Little Mermaid-Denmark

The statue of the Little Mermaid has become an iconic landmark in Copenhagen, Denmark. It can be found on a rock by the waterside at the Langelinie promenade. The bronze statue was designed by Edvard Eriksen and it is based on the fairy tale, which has the same name as the statue, by Hans Christian Andersen. Since its display in 1913, it has become a popular tourist attraction and a landmark of Copenhagen. However, it has become a target of vandalism from time to time in recent years.
